In Loving Memory of Socorro Altamirano Frias

Socorro Altamirano Frias was born on October 15, 1943, in El Ranchito, Jalisco, Mexico, to her loving parents, Obdulia Ramirez and Tranquilino Altamirano. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. From her mother, Obdulia Ramirez, she shared siblings Silvia Casillas, Teresa Galino, Francisca Ramos, Jose Cardenas, Roberto Cardenas, Jesus Cardenas, Maria Cardenas, and Pedro Cardenas. From her father, Tranquilino Altamirano, she shared siblings Carmela Altamirano Salinas, Miguel Altamirano, Traquie Altamirano, Rene Altamirano, Alma Franco, Roberto Altamirano, and Jimmy Altamirano.

In February of 1960, Socorro married the love of her life, Candelario Frias Avalos. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with eight children: Bertha Silva, Silvia Almanza, Martha Flores, Esther Carrillo, Leticia Silva, Juan Frias, Raquel Nunez, and Samuel Frias.

Socorro was the proud matriarch of a large and loving family. Her legacy lives on through her sixteen granddaughters, twelve grandsons, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom carries forward her strength, love, and family values.

For over 30 years, Socorro worked in agriculture, laboring in the fields with determination, resilience, and unwavering dedication. Her hard work helped provide for her family and reflected the strength and perseverance that defined her life. She was a woman of courage who faced life's challenges with faith and dignity.

Beyond her work in the fields, Socorro's greatest pride was her family. She devoted her life to raising her eight children with love, teaching them the values of unity, hard work, and compassion—values that continue to live on through generations.

Socorro was a strong, loving, and devoted woman whose life was a testament to sacrifice, faith, and family. Though she has passed on, her memory, love, and the legacy she created will never be forgotten. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her for generations to come.
