Obituary

Richard Taylor Chandler

03/27/1956 - 06/08/2023

Richard was born March 27th, 1956. He gained his wings on June 8th, 2023.

Big Rich, as his friends affectionately called him was an entrepreneur, always seeking the next opportunity and owning several businesses together with his wife Pok, from baseball and sports collectables, a Quick Serve Restaurant, and their current venture: The T-shirt Outlet. Richard loved sports, especially the Dodgers. One of his most memorable moments was at Spring Training for his 60th Birthday when the Dodger stadium crowd sang Happy Birthday to him.

Richard was a brother , a son, a husband, a father, an uncle, a nephew, a grandfather, a friend and partner to many of us, and will  be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and presence.  Richard was Richard, there was never any guessing where he stood  on an issue or what he stood for, he was genuine!

Prior to his business ventures, Richard served our country for 10 Years in the U.S. Army following in the footsteps of his father, who was a career soldier. Richard was also heavily involved in the church and loved the Lord. He served as Deacon at Living Christ Church in Tulare, California and more recently here at Cornerstone Community Church, where he also enjoyed greeting members of the church every Sunday morning with a smile.

Richard was preceded in death by his father Roy Chandler. He leaves to celebrate his life; his beloved wife Pok Hui, a daughter Rita, a son Levi (Gina), two grandchildren Levi Jr, and Olivia, his mother Edelgard Chandler, three brothers: Edelhard (Tere), Franklin (Carla), Donald (Ann), and two sisters Christine (Melford), and Beverly (Nia). As well as nieces and nephews, Rhiannon, Tyson, Brandon, Lindsay (Kyla), Jeremy, Ryan (Ellie), Joshua (Ariel), Erica, and Nathaniel. Additionally, many uncles, aunts, and  cousins including his namesake Richard Taylor Chandler. Richard will truly be missed by those that loved him.
